HIM Design by Lana Zellner in collaboration with Karen Zellner

At our favorite restaurant for dinner

Initially designed as an exercise into understanding and manipulating material, this lamp was constructed out of a large semi-translucent tube. Using nothing but heat and pressure, we were able to manipulate the form as well as the ultimate effect.

To test this lamp out we took it on a nighttime photography expedition to capture its ephemeral glow in a series of environments that would bring out its texture, form and sensuality. As the night unraveled we felt ourselves fall deeper and deeper into the lamps luminosity, sinking into it like moths to the flame. We knew it had been one of the best dates we have ever been on when we no longer called it "the lamp" but we called it "Him."
